CV Writing for Graduates: Standing Out from the Crowd

Vinit · Nov 22, 2025 · 8 min read

Tailor Every Application

A generic CV goes in the bin. Look at the job description. If they ask for 'project management', ensure those exact words appear in your CV.

Focus on Achievements, Not Duties

Don't just list what you did; list what you achieved. Instead of 'Responsible for social media', say 'Increased Instagram engagement by 40% in 3 months'.

Structure

  • Profile: A short, punchy summary of who you are and what you want.
  • Education: Put this first as a fresh grad. Highlight relevant modules.
  • Experience: Use reverse chronological order.
  • Skills: List technical (Python, Excel) and soft skills.

Keep it Concise

Two pages maximum. Use bullet points and plenty of white space.
